Texture = Joy
At the core of my artistic practice is the joy of touch. I create as a means of expression and self-regulation. The feel of the materials and tools in my hands brings me contentment. In the final artwork, the tactile experience is considered and elevated. This is artwork that is meant to be touched.
A Radical Act
Our world celebrates that which is fast, new, and shiny. In the face of overconsumption and environmental degradation, choosing to mend is a radical act. Choosing to make by hand is a radical act. Teaching others to mend and make is a radical act.
We all have the soul of an artist.
